COMMENTS OF INDIVIDUAL COMMISSIONERS:

Schwartzkopf Park – Mr. Seymour said the park is pretty much flooded from all the rain.  He noted a lot of improvements have been made to the park these past few months, i.e. new shelter house, blacktop on one of the parking areas, etc.

Legion Park – Mr. Howard noted two very large, very old trees have been cut down and are just laying there.  He asked the Clerk to talk to Lane Stillings or Kathy House to see why they were cut down.  They don’t appear to be rotten.  Also, will trees be planted to replace those trees.

Mill Creek Park – Mr. Marshall noted he received a call from a resident regarding some trees that had blown down during a wind storm a couple a months ago.  That same resident called back about a week later and was very complimentary of City crews for the quick clean-up of the trees.

Mr. Marshall reported that the Frozen Nose 4-Miler is this Saturday, January 20th.  Registration begins at 12:00 noon and the race at 1:00 p.m.

Mrs. Groat proposed an agenda item for next month.  She proposed putting a policy in place to close the park if conditions are bad, such as high water from which a teenager had to be rescued.  She is concerned about liability issues.

ADJOURNMENT:  There being no further business to come before Parks & Recreation Commission, the meeting adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
