AGENDA ITEMS:

1.     To consider a request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to permit new identification sign, located at Wedding Designs + T.J.’s Tuxedos, 125 North Main Street; filed by Terry Henderson, 18105 Brown School Rd., Marysville, OH  43040.

Mrs. McCoy stated Mrs. Henderson is planning to place her sign below the windows  instead of over top of the windows like the existing sign.  Mrs. Nuspl asked if Mrs. Henderson had any plans on painting the outside of the building?  Mrs. Henderson stated no, it will stay the light gray.  Mrs. Moots asked how tall the lettering on the sign is going to be.  Mrs. Nuspl stated the sheet said they were going to be 3” in height.  Mrs. Nuspl commented that would be hard to read from the street.  Mrs. Henderson stated she questioned the lady making the sign and she told her it is what the computer came up with for it to be proportioned.  Mrs. Henderson stated she would like the letters to be bigger.  Mrs. Moots stated she feels they need to be at least 6” for it to be read from the street.  The board asked about the shade of purple being used.  Mrs. Henderson stated it is a deep purple, the color came out much lighter when she made the copies.

Mrs. Nuspl made a motion to approve the proposed sign with the conditions that the sign is contained within the wood portion of the front of the building, not to hang below or be above onto the windows and the lettering is to be 6”.  Mrs. Hawkins seconded the motion.

A representative stated he has another option for the board to consider.  He stated they have thought about putting just letters on the brick building and not on a sign backing.  He stated he would like to get some lettering samples to make sure the blue Manpower letters will stand out against the brick.  Mrs. Moots stated by looking at the picture it doesn’t look like it will.  Mr. Nuspl asked if they had any versatility with the color of the letters.  The representative stated no it is a corporate color.  He stated there would be 3 historical up lit lights.  Mr. Draughn asked if they had a sample or a picture from the manufacturing company.  The representative stated he would bring them with pictures of the lettering on the building to the next meeting.
