Community Housing Improvement Program (CHIP) - FY 2011-2013
The City of Marysville has been awarded Community Housing Improvement Program (CHIP) funds for FY 2011 through 2013 for housing assistance to eligible residents.  These funds may be used to repair or replace your roof, update plumbing or electrical systems, or replace your heating system.  Eligible homeowners may receive a grant for up to $5,000 to make one of these needed by expensive repairs.

If your home is in need of major rehabilitations, you may qualify for a forgivable loan for up to $30,000 to repair or replace all major systems in the home including roof, plumbing, electrical and structural and lead-based paint issues if necessary.  The loan is made at 0% interest and requires no monthly payments.

You do not have to hire your own contractor.  Inspection, bidding the work to qualified contractors and project oversight are managed by the CHIP administrator.

The CHIP funds may also be used for down payment and rehabilitation assistance for eligible, first-time homebuyers desiring to purchase a home within the City of Marysville corporation limits.  If you are purchasing a home that does not need repairs, deferred loans are available to help with down payment and closing costs.

For all programs, homes must be located within the City of Marysville corporation limits and valued at less than $144,000.  Household income must also meet the guidelines.

For more information about this program and to see if you qualify, please call (937) 642-1034.  The City of Marysville is an Equal Housing Opportunity Lender.
