EDGEWOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TRAFFIC - Effective 4/14/08

Due to the large volume of private vehicles transporting students to and from Edgewood Elementary School, Grove Street becomes very congested in both directions.  Since Grove Street is a through street the congestion could impede emergency vehicle response to the area.  As a result of a meeting between school officials, and the Marysville Police Division the following steps are being taken in an attempt to improve student and traffic safety.

The traffic flow within the school driveway will be reversed.  The entrance will be off Edgewood Drive and the exit will be onto Grove Street.  During the time periods of 8am to 9am, and 3pm to 4pm the following traffic restrictions will be in place:

  • No Parking on either side of Edgewood Drive.  This does not preclude Westbound or Eastbound vehicles from stopping in the line of traffic to enter the school driveway.

  • No Left Turn from Northbound Grove Street to Edgewood Drive.

  • Vehicles dropping off or picking up students should use Southbound Grove Street to Edgewood Drive, or Hickory to Edgewood Drive.

The Marysville Division of Police will assist with the traffic changes.
