Below are the City of Marysville requirements for notification of Planning Commission and City Council hearings for zoning map amendments.

 
Planning Commission
 
Applicant shall submit the required contents of application per Section 1131.04.
 
1131.04 CONTENTS OF APPLICATION

(a)  Applications for amendments to the Official Zoning Map adopted as part of this Zoning Ordinance by Section 1131.01 shall contain at least the following information:

  (1)  Name, address and phone number of owner;  
  A.  If applicant is different from owner  
     1.  Name, address and phone number of applicant.
     2.  Relationship of applicant to owner (agent, representative, etc.)
 
  B.  Address of property to be rezoned.
(2)  Present use;
(3)  Present zoning district;
(4)  Proposed use;  
(5)  Proposed zoning district;
(6)  A vicinity map at a scale approved by the Zoning Inspector showing property lines and acreage to be rezoned, thoroughfares, existing and proposed zoning of site in question, adjacent properties, and such other items as the Zoning Inspector may require;

(7)  A list of all property owners and their mailing addresses who are within, contiguous to, or directly across the street from the parcel(s) proposed or rezoned and others that may have a substantial interest in the case, except that addresses need not be included where more than ten parcels are to be rezoned;

(8)  A narrative addressing the following:
  A.  The reason(s) for the proposed amendment.
B.  Ways in which the proposed amendment relates to the Comprehensive Plan.
 
(9)  A fee as established by Council, according to Section 1125.11.
 
AS A COURTESY (NOT REQUIRED BY CODE) TO THE RESIDENTS OF MARYSVILLE, CITY STAFF:
  • Sends notices to adjacent property of the subject case.  Notices are sent based on the mailing address submitted as part of the application requirements.

  • Sends a notification to the newspaper (Journal-Tribune) 10 days prior to the Planning Commission meeting for publication.

  • Posts the Planning Commission meeting agenda in the main lobby of City Hall.

  • Posts the Planning Commission meeting agenda on the City of Marysville website.

After a recommendation is made by the Planning Commission to City Council, the following steps are taken for notification:
 
1131.09  NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING IN NEWSPAPER

                Notice of the public hearing required in Section 1131.08 shall be given by Council by at least one publication in one or more newspapers of general circulation in the City.  Such notice shall be published at least thirty days before the date of the required hearing.  The published notice shall set forth the time and place of the public hearing and a summary of the proposed amendment.

 
1131.10  NOTICE TO PROPERTY OWNERS BY COUNCIL

                If the proposed amendment intends to rezone or redistrict ten or less parcels of land, as listed on the tax duplicate, written notice of the hearing shall be mailed by the City Clerk, by first class mail, at least twenty days before the day of the public hearing to all owners of property within, contiguous to, and directly across the street from such area proposed to be rezoned or redistricted to the address of such owners appearing in the County Auditor's current tax list or the Treasurer's mailing list and to such other list or lists that may be specified by Council.  The failure to deliver the notification, as provided in this section shall not invalidate any such amendment.  The notice shall contain the same information as required of notices published in newspapers as specified in Section 1131.09.
