MILFORD AVENUE AND MAPLE STREET INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS  
 

Project Summary:

The City conducted Intersection Studies on this intersection in 2000, and 2009 based on a long history of dangerous driving conditions at this intersection.  Based on the studies conducted and concerns presented by citizens, intersection/roadway improvements have been deemed necessary to improve the overall safety and traffic flow. In general, the work completed as part of this project includes the following:

  • Roadway widening of Maple Street for the addition of a left turn lane including:

o        Asphalt widening

o        Profile adjustments

o        Installation of curb and gutter

o        Installation of sidewalks

o        Pavement Striping

o        Minor drive-way improvements

o        Utility Work

  • Roadway extension of Stocksdale Drive
  • Removal of Milford Avenue between Stocksdale Dr. and Maple St.
  • Installation of an access drive and right-in/right-out to Community Markets
  • Driveway repairs/improvements

Project Schedule:

  • Project construction started September 6, 2011
  • The project was completed ahead of schedule on November 11, 2011

Project Budget/Funding:

  • Total project construction cost was $523,000.00.
  • 50% of the project was funded by The Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC) and the remainder was funded by the City.
