Pool Admission Regulations

   
 
  1. All persons entering the pool must pay a daily entry fee or show a valid season pass.

  2. Upon payment of the daily entry fee, the purchaser agrees to abide by admission regulations and pool rules.

  3. All patrons must sign in as requested by the Union County Health Division.

  4. Season/Family passes and daily admissions are not transferable and may only be used by the person whose name appears on the pass.  Passes will be revoked if there is misuse.

  5. Season/Family passes include parents and their children under the age of 18.  Children 18 through 23 are only included on season passes if they are a full-time student.  Proof of student status is to be provided by the parents.

  6. When a family pass is purchased, proof of residency is required.  A utility bill is a great example of proof of residency.

  7. Family passes do not include grandparents, nannies, babysitters, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, or out-of-town guests.

  8. There will be a charge of $5.00 per pass if lost or stolen.

  9. A resident lives inside the City of Marysville corporation limit.  If you only work inside the City, you do not qualify for the resident fees.

  10. Nurses and/or medical caregivers are permitted to be placed on a family pass if documentation is provided with the medical condition.

  11. Admission to the pool must be made through the main entrance.  Anyone caught falsifying identification or in any way gaining illegal entry, may be prosecuted.

  12. Suspension of pool privileges by City personnel does not entitle the person to a refund of fees paid for admission and/or season pass.

  13. At anytime, proof of identification may be requested to verify the name on the season pass.

  14. The City of Marysville is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

  15. Use of the Municipal Pool is strictly voluntary.  The City is not liable for any accidents.

  16. Loitering at the entrance or fences outside the pool area will not be permitted.

  17. Persons under the influence or suspected to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs shall be denied entry into the pool.

  18. All children 11 and under must be accompanied by a responsible person who remains in attendance. The responsible person must be in close proximity within the pool gates to those children who are non-swimmers.  Parents will be requested to pick up unaccompanied children.

  19. After any morning activity at the pool, all participants must exit the pool and re-enter under the normal admission procedures.  No saving of lounges, etc.

 

 

 

Pool Rules

   
 
  1. To provide a safe and enjoyable pool facility, unruly or dangerous behavior will not be tolerated.

  2. Running, chicken fights, dunking, towel snapping, horseplay, pushing, throwing of litter, or any other activity deemed dangerous or inappropriate by the lifeguards or management will not be tolerated.

  3. There shall be no kissing or any other inappropriate contact at the City of Marysville Municipal Pool.  Violations of this rule shall be at the discretion of the pool staff.  Violators shall be removed from the facility.

  4. Alcohol, drugs, smoking, cutoff shorts, loud or abusive language, food or drink in the immediate pool area are prohibited.  There is no smoking at the pool facility.  This includes the pool entrance and steps.

  5. There shall be no glass containers brought into the Municipal Pool.

  6. The destruction of property shall not be tolerated.

  7. Persons having open sores, communicable diseases, wounds, severe sunburns, or bandages will be prohibited from the pool area.

  8. To provide for safe use of the diving facility, only one person at a time on the diving board or tower.  Divers must go straight off the end of the board and are permitted only one bounce.

  9. Only forward dives are permitted, no flips at anytime.

  10. Divers must exit the pool at the closest ladder or swim straight out and under the rope to exit the diving area.

  11. The next diver may not approach until the previous diver has reached the rope or ladder.

  12. There will be no diving or jumping from the pool deck as water depths are not suitable for diving, with the exceptions of the swim lesson activities or swim team activities.

  13. After 6:00pm lap lanes will be established, if there is no swim practice being conducted.  Only persons swimming laps will be permitted in these lanes.  The swimming pattern should be on the right side of the lane as you swim down and back, as multiple swimmers are possible.

  14. Only bathing suits are to be worn on the pool deck and in the water.  Please remember this is a public pool and all bathing suits should be appropriate.  The City reserves the right to deem what is appropriate and persons wearing inappropriate suits will be asked to leave.

  15. Infants must have on a "swim diaper"; swim diapers may be available for purchase at the pool office.

  16. No tee shirts or tank tops are permitted in the pool unless there is a religious or medication exception (with proof provided).

  17. The only street clothes permitted will be the adult/adults supervising a child/children in the pool.

  18. The use of rafts, tubes, and flotation devices are permitted.  Any crowded or unsafe conditions may result in the usage of the raft, tube, or flotation device being denied by lifeguard or management.

  19. No one will talk to the lifeguards while they are on duty in the lifeguard chair, unless it is an emergency.

  20. Children may be asked to demonstrate adequate swimming ability in the deep end or to use the diving boards.  A swim test will consist of swimming the length of the pool in the deep area.

  21. Pets are not allowed in the Municipal Pool, unless the animal is a guide dog as permitted by law.

  22. The last 15 minutes of each hour will be safety break.  This is an adult swim only time.  Minors will be prohibited from being in or around the pool except those infants of "holding age" being held by parents.

The Division of Parks & Recreation reserves the right to amend these rules and regulations for the safety of the general public at any time.
