UNION COUNTY HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION DAY

NOTE:  The morning is usually the busiest time and there is a longer wait to have your waste unloaded.

What we can accept for recycling...
Materials must be in their original containers and clearly marked for easy identification.

Waste oil, lubricants, fluids, gasoline, kerosene (less than 5 gallons per container, please), Antifreeze, Batteries, Solvents   Fertilizers, Pesticides, Other garden chemicals
     
Paints/Hobby Products (Workshop)   Cleaning Products (Kitchen)
Paint thinners, Solvents, Asphalt & Cement sealants, Paint (water, latex, oil), Paint strippers, Photographic chemicals, Glue, Adhesives, Lacquers, Varnish, Sealants, Chemistry kits, Wood Preservatives, Stains, Asphalt roof coating, Ammunition, Fluorescent lights, Dry cells Batteries   Household cleaning solutions (liquid or powder), Oven cleaners, Degreasers, Drain cleaners, Bleach, Ammonia, Wood and metal polish, Rodent poisons, Flea powders
     
Personal and Health Care (Bathroom)   Tires (Garage)
Nail polish/remover, Expired medications, After-shaves, Perfumes, Shoe Polish, Hair treatments, Mercury thermometers   Car tires only, (10) tire limit, 16" maximum.  No truck or tractor tires.  Will accept tires on rims.

What we cannot accept for recycling...
NOTE: 
This program is for household hazardous waste only.  We are unable to process commercial or industrial, farming, or school waste on this recycling day.

"Spring Clean Up"

Saturday, April 26 ● 8:00am-11:00am
Monday-Friday, April 28 thru May 2 ● 1:00pm-5:30pm
Saturday, May 3 ● 8:00am-11:00am

The Marysville City Council, Mayor and Administration encourage all residents to clean up during this week.

  • This event is limited to single-family residents who currently receive City contracted refuse service.

  • No commercial or industrial items will be accepted and property owners must also be City residents.

  • Identification, such as driver's license and a current utility bill, to verify you are a City of Marysville resident with City trash service, will be required.

  • Location for drop off is the Sanitation Building (650 N. Main Street).  Look for the "Spring Clean Up" sign and turn off North Main Street at Holly Drive.

The City of Marysville is not responsible for unloading vehicles or any damages incurred in the unloading of vehicles.  The City also has the right to refuse items that do not comply with clean up rules.

Items that will be accepted...

Furniture, beds, bedsprings, mattresses, windows, boards (cut in 2 1/2 foot lengths), carpeting water heaters, radiators, roofing materials, computers, monitors, printers, TV's, and microwaves.  NOTE:  No other appliances, including washers and dryers will be accepted.

Items that will not be accepted...

Household Hazardous Waste, paint, varnish, tires, motor oils, lubricants, gasoline, kerosene, antifreeze, batteries, solvents, fertilizers, pesticides, any garden chemicals, glue, adhesives, wood preservatives, stains, appliances, washers, dryers, air conditioners, humidifiers, refrigerators, freezers, (anything with freon), railroad ties, and landscaping timbers will be not accepted.

Call Union Recyclers (642-7283) for information about disposal of major kitchen appliances, washers, dryers, air conditioners, humidifiers, and batteries.

Remember yard waste should be placed in paper biodegradable bags at the curb at your home on your regular trash pickup day.  Yard waste, grass, brush, and tree limbs will not be accepted at the Sanitation facility for drop-off.  Please keep any kind of trash out of all yard waste bags.
