SNOW REMOVAL

The City of Marysville has a snow removal policy whereby all streets within the city limits will be plowed and salted as conditions warrant.  To ensure that major thoroughfares remain open to traffic, a priority of streets for snow removal has been established (private streets are not treated).

Priority #1 - These streets will continue to receive treatment as long as weather conditions warrant.  These conditions may include blowing snow and freezing roads once snow has thawed.

Residents can assist the snow removal process in several ways:

  • Pile shoveled snow from driveways to the right of the driveway as you face the street or pile in your yard area.
  • Keep a safe distance when following snow plows.
  • Keep basketball hoops out of the tree lawn to avoid accident/injury to plows and drivers.
  • Keep children away from snowplows; keep parked cars off of the street.
  • Do not attempt to pass a snowplow.
  • Clear stormwater drains to help prevent flooding when the snow melts.

To provide a more thorough and efficient snow removal service, residents are asked not to park their automobiles on the street after a snowfall.  Residents are encouraged to keep their sidewalks, curbs, and gutters free from snow and ice.  Depositing snow or ice on any public sidewalk, street, bike path, road or highway is not permitted.

For seasonal information on the progress of snow and ice removal, residents can call (937) 642-4767.

In accordance with Ohio Law, the City of Marysville recognizes the following Snow Emergency classifications:
  • Level 1 - Conditions are hazardous, motorists should drive carefully.
  • Level 2 - Roadways are hazardous, people should only drive when necessary.
  • Level 3 - All roads are closed to non-emergency travel.  All employees should contact their employers to see if they should report to work.  Those traveling on the roadways may be subject to arrest.

During a snow emergency, the Street Division office is open and can be reached by calling (937) 642-4767 or (937) 642-0116.
