The Marysville
Division of Police recently obtained a "Stealth Stat" traffic
survey computer for use in gathering speed and traffic
information. The Stealth Stat is simply a device placed
along the street that is not usually recognized by motorists.
It records traffic speeds and counts by a regular radar in
addition to an attached computer. The device does not
photograph vehicles.
The information
obtained is expected to assist in determining speed problem
areas, what time or area enforcement action would be beneficial
and to educate the public on perceived speed problems.
As information is
gathered, summary reports will be posted for specific streets.
Click on the street name to view the associated traffic survey.
Note: When viewing the
summary report, the 50th percentile means that 50% of the
vehicles were traveling at that speed or less; 85th percentile
means that 85% of the vehicles were traveling at that speed or
less. The maximum speed is the highest speed recorded from
a vehicle during the survey. The posted speed is the speed
limit posted for that area. The ten mile pace is the ten
mile speed range with the highest number of vehicles recorded. |
