Industrial Pretreatment

About the Industrial Pretreatment Program

The City of Marysville is required under Part II Section AB of its effective National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit (4PE00002*BD) to develop and maintain an Industrial Pretreatment Program (IPP). This program sets local discharge limits that are regulated and enforced by the City of Marysville relative to industrial discharges.

Ohio Code

The IPP is implemented in accordance with 40 CFR 403, Chapter 3745-3 of the Ohio Administrative Code and Chapter 6111 of the Ohio Revised Code.

Implementing & Enforcing the Program

The city is required to adopt and maintain legal authority which enables it to fully implement and enforce all aspects of its approved program, including the identification and characterization of industrial sources, issuance of control documents, compliance monitoring and reporting, and enforcement.

Discharge Limits

Industrial or commercial entities should contact the Division of Wastewater at (937) 645-7344 for discharge limits. New companies who wish to discharge to the sanitary sewer system are required to submit an Industrial User Survey Form.

Reports

The city submits a quarterly Industrial User Violation Report and an annual report on the effectiveness of the IPP to the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency. Copies of these reports can be obtained by contacting the Division of Wastewater.

Significant Non-Compliance

In February of each year, the city is required to publish in the local newspaper those industries who have been in Significant Non-Compliance (SNC) during the previous calendar year.
