Refuse Collection and Recycling
The City of Marysville has a flat rate, unlimited, automated collection program that includes refuse, recycling, bulk item collection, and disposal. The City contracts with Republic Services, Inc. for refuse and recycling collection. Toters are provided, free of charge, to each customer; this includes one green trash toter and one blue recycling toter. To request smaller toters, replacement for a broken toter or to request an extra toter, contact Public Service at firstname.lastname@example.org or (937) 645-7350 option #2.
All residents are encouraged to recycle. The recycling program offered in the City of Marysville allows residents to conveniently recycle at their curb on a weekly basis. Recycling is picked up on your normal trash day starting at 6:00 am. All recyclables should be placed in the provided blue recycling toters. Residents are allowed up to three recycling toters at no additional cost. Please view the list of acceptable items prior to placing the items out for collection.
Trash should be placed at the curb in the provided green trash toter by 6:00 am on your designated trash day. All items intended for trash pickup are to be placed inside the toter and the lid on the toter must be able to close. Review the Residential Refuse Collection Schedule and Route Map or contact Public Service to verify when your trash will be collected.
All bulk items will be collected on resident's regularly scheduled trash/recycling collection day. Bulk collection is limited to piles no larger than 10 feet long, 4 feet wide and 4 feet high.
Customers will be billed for these services in the monthly utility bill that also includes billing for water, sewer, and stormwater.
Yard waste, brush, and leaves are not included in the contract with Republic Services, Inc. The City’s Sanitation Division is responsible for the collection of these items for residents. Bagged yard waste, brush, and leaves are picked up on a weekly basis (M-F) and generally on the same schedule as trash and recycling. Please review the Yard Waste, Brush, and Leaf Collection brochure for guidelines on how to prepare your yard waste for pick-up and holiday schedule.
If your regular trash/recycling day is on, or after, one of the following holidays and the holiday is on a weekday, pick-up will be delayed by one day. If your regular trash/recycling day is on a Friday, all items should be placed at the curb by Saturday at 4:00 am. The normal schedule will resume the following week. Yard waste and brush collection will be caught up throughout the following week. Holidays which affect trash/recycling pickup include:
