Urban Forest Management Plan

This Urban Forest Management Plan (UFMP) was initiated by the City of Marysville as a multifaceted approach for enhancing the urban forest, creating a proactive tree maintenance schedule, strengthening community resilience, and ensuring public trees and their associated benefits are distributed equitably throughout the City. A thriving urban forest is only possible through a shared commitment between the City and the community.

The City of Marysville has been maintaining a street tree inventory since 2018! As of 2021, only 56% of planting spaces along streets have trees. Citywide, roughly 15% of Marysville is covered by tree canopy. This UFMP will include recommendations and strategies for growing the urban forest by planting new trees, while also helping the existing trees thrive.
